Reconciling In Christ

We, the community of Urban Servant Corps, proclaim the message that the Grace of our Lord is infinitely inclusive and that everyone is welcome through our doors. Because lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons are often scorned by society and

alienated from the Church, we wish to make known our caring and concern. We believe that Christ calls us to reconciliation and wholeness in a world of alienation and brokenness. As disciples of Christ seeking justice and reconciliation among all peoples, we at Urban Servant Corps welcome all into the fullness of God’s love. We welcome everyone, without exception and regardless of sex, race, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical and mental ability, age, or religion. We recognize that each person is a unique creation of God and, through Grace, is called a child of God.

All are welcome at Urban Servant Corps. All are welcome to worship, to hear the Good News, to receive the sacraments, and to share in fellowship and service. All members of Urban Servant Corps pledge to ourselves and to all others that we will strive to live as a reconciling people, in our life together and in our outreach to the world.

Meet The Staff

Urban Servant Corps is a small, single-site program led by two employees. This offers the opportunity for close connection and support for USC volunteers during the year of service.

Krista Kilgus (she/her), M.Ed

Executive Director

As a 03-04 alumna of the Urban Servant Corps (USC), Krista is thrilled to be in the midst of the USC in this capacity. She has called Denver her home since 2003 after graduating from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA and moved to joined USC serving at Denver Urban Ministries/Urban Education. Krista was a kindergarten teacher for 5 years in Denver and Aurora. Upon completion of her Master of Education, Self-Design, and course work in non-profit management at Regis University, Krista began serving as Executive Director in 2009. Carolyn Sautter (she/her), MSW

Community Life Coordinator

In 2004 Carolyn graduated from Pennsylvania State University and moved to the Denver area to serve as a full-time volunteer, working with pregnant and parenting teenage women. This experience eventually led her to pursue a Master of Social Work degree and subsequent years of work with individuals dealing with issues of homelessness and suffering from mental illness.
