Let's EatLET’S EAT

Thursday, October 10 from 5:30-7:30pm

The Let's Eat event has been moved to....the comfort of your own home!

Our beloved state of Colorado has really thrown us for a loop and while we would love to see your smiling faces, we also want you to be safe and warm. Therefore, due to the weather, we will not hold the event as planned at the Roof Top Garden of The Gathering Place on Thursday, October 10.

As a revised version of the event, we invite you (in your slippers with a warm bowl of chili), to move your generous bids and contributions to our online platform. As a reminder of how this will work -- a USC Board member will lovingly prepare the specially-themed meal described on the bidding page. You can invite 6-8 people to your home for a party/gathering and the food will magically and deliciously appear! Meals include: Ukrainian Comfort Food, South African meal, Birthday Brunch Bash, Sports Enthusiasts Party and a French Picnic at the Botanic Gardens.

You may start your bidding now and have until 7pm on Thursday, October 10 to make a bid. We will update the bids as they come in, so be sure to check back to increase your bid, if necessary! A link to the online bidding and meal descriptions is here

Some words of inspiration from last year's USC volunteers to "chew on" while you reflect on the gift of what it means to be part of the Urban Servant Corps community.

"I value the friendships I have built and the richness it brought to my life. During my year of simplicity, I have come to know an abundance of love, joy, and friendships." -- Katie

"I really think living in community changed me deeply this year. Having to confront my own issues/needs in an open and honest way with my community made me seriously consider what is most important to me." -- Billy

"I have been rewarded as a result of slowing down and listening -- to myself, friends, community members. I am looking forward with pride for the next USCers to come." -- Josh

As you know, this is life-changing work -- for each volunteer, for the clients who are being served at non-profit organizations, and for our neighborhoods and world -- and we can't do it without you. Thank you for faithfully journeying with us.

We look forward to being with you all again soon. In the meantime, please know that our USC volunteers still want to eat, so we invite you to make your generous contributions to support their grocery fund during this year of service.
$55 per person each month
$440 for the household each month
$6000 for the household for the whole year

1660 Ogden St.

Palm SundayThe Urban Servant Corps community will celebrate the beginning of Holy Week as you are invited to walk the neighborhood where Urban Servant Corps volunteers have been present for 30 years! You are encouraged to bring your youth group, co-workers, families, and neighbors to offer prayers for those who are most in need in our community. May this gathering be an act of faithful support for the justice that we seek in our neighborhoods.
